December 31, 2015. With SI Raleigh’s Christmas Angels project, Soroptimist members provided $1,680 worth of Christmas gifts to 10 teen girls and their 14 children at Raleigh’s Haven House in December. Based on the moms’ wishes, Club members donated, wrapped and delivered clothing, boots, laptops, educational tablets, gift cards, gas cards, linens, a microwave, and bikes. Before they came to Haven House, these teens were homeless. They range in age from 19 – 22 years old and their children from newborn to age six.
Haven House reaches nearly 3,000 teens a year through 12 programs that focuses on issues such as kids having difficulty in the home, school and/or the community, and kids in crisis and/or homeless.
