Kahlecia is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration with plans to eventually earn a master’s degree in the same field. She currently works in the healthcare field and serves as co-chair of her clinic’s patient experience committee where she applies her academic knowledge to improve patient care and strengthen patient and staff relationships. Kahlecia is a devoted mother of one daughter and has learned to balance school, work, and parenting while staying focused on her long-term goals.
For Kahlecia, each class provides practical tools she uses in real-world situations, helping her better understand policies, manage teams, and advocate for meaningful change within her organization. Her goal is to enhance systems for both patients and staff so that everyone feels valued, heard, and supported.

She plans to use the award to pay for childcare and school supplies.
