Thank you so much for taking the time to learn more about me and for investing in women who are working hard to build a better future. I am truly honored and grateful for your support.

I have wanted to go to college since I was in middle school and high school. Education has always been important to me because I knew it could open doors and create opportunities for a better life. I currently attend Wilson Community College, where I am working toward becoming a registered nurse.

One of the biggest influences in my life was seeing other women around me pursue higher education and successful careers. When I was younger, I attended a homecoming football game at North Carolina A&T State University, and from that moment I knew I wanted to go to college. My cousin, Meme, who became a nurse in 2015, also inspired me to pursue nursing and showed me what was possible through hard work and determination.

One of the biggest challenges I have overcome was facing difficult life circumstances that could have discouraged me from following my dreams. However, through faith, perseverance, and support from others, I kept pushing forward. I truly believe none of this would be possible without God.

The accomplishment I am most proud of is raising my son while continuing my education. He is 14 years old and will be graduating from 8th grade this year. I am proud of his growth and strength, and being able to set an example for him motivates me to keep going.

My future goals are to help my son transition successfully into high school and eventually college. For myself, I plan to earn my BSN within the next two to three years. After that, I hope to pursue becoming a CRNA, a physician, or possibly explore another degree in informatics, technology, or engineering. I have also recently been offered a new graduate position at UNC Health, which is an exciting opportunity for me as I continue building my nursing career.

I am so thankful to the members of Soroptimist International of Raleigh. I admire the way you support women, encourage others to follow their dreams, and give back with grace. I am honored to be in the room with such inspiring women, and I hope one day I can give back and inspire others just as your organization has inspired me.

Thank you again for your kindness, encouragement, and support.
