On May 15–17, members of Soroptimist International of Raleigh joined fellow Soroptimists from across the Central East Coast Region in Annapolis, Maryland for the annual Spring Conference. The weekend offered a mix of inspiration, connection, and forward-looking leadership.
Our Raleigh club was well represented by Suzanne Blanke, Terri Craig, Cindy Hopkins, Jennifer Prevatt, Pam Sinclair, and Carolyn Skowron, with Suzanne, Cindy, and Jennifer serving as delegates. It was meaningful to see our club actively engaged in both learning and leadership at the regional level.
We were proud to celebrate Mayra V., one of Raleigh’s Live Your Dream Award recipients. Mayra was honored with the region’s top Live Your Dream Award of $5,000. Mayra was in attendance to receive this well-deserved recognition, making the moment even more meaningful for those of us there to support her. Terri Craig, Raleigh member and Central East Coast Region Live Your Dream Awards chair presided over the regional Live Your Dream Award luncheon.
Another special moment for our club was celebrating Julie Waller, a Raleigh member who received one of the region’s “She Dreams Big” Award. This recognition honors her vision and leadership, and also provides her the opportunity to participate in a leadership roundtable amplifying her impact within Soroptimist.
The weekend marked the transition into a new biennium, with the introduction of a new Board of Directors and a new regional budget, while also offering a chance to reconnect with familiar faces, build new relationships, and leave re-energized for the work ahead.
The conversations reminded us that while each club serves its own community, we are strongest when we come together as a region. We return to Raleigh inspired, informed, and ready to carry forward the momentum of the weekend.
