Lenisha is a determined health care management student whose journey reflects strength, purpose and resilience. Inspired by her retired military father and her mother’s work in health care, she grew up with a strong belief in education, service, and perseverance. After experiencing the tragic loss of her parents and brother, and facing financial challenges, Lenisha discovered her passion for health care management and the positive impact it can have on communities.
She is currently enrolled at the University of Mount Olive and is on track to complete her bachelor’s degree in health care management in December 2026. As a single mother, she is committed to being a positive role model for her preteen son while building a stable and meaningful future for their family.
Lenisha hopes to pursue a career as a health services manager in public health or long-term care. She is dedicated to ensuring that all patients, regardless of their background, have equal access to the care and resources they need. Her mentors describe her as compassionate, dependable, and a natural leader who brings empathy and fairness to every setting.
With the support of this award, Lenisha plans to continue strengthening her skills and expanding her opportunities to make a lasting impact in the health care field.
