We had a wonderful turnout for our 7th PuzzleMania speed puzzling fundraiser on Saturday, Feb. 1.
Forty teams of four raced to complete the 500-piece Route 66 puzzle, kindly donated by MasterPieces, and team Over Puzzled finished in a record time of 22 minutes and 6 seconds.
The event raised over $12,000 to support our Dream programs, which provide cash awards to offset higher education expenses, offer ongoing mentoring, and equip at-risk girls with tools to achieve their educational and career goals.
The fundraiser included a 50/50 raffle which collected an eye-popping $1,096. The total was split between Soroptimist Raleigh and one lucky puzzler with each receiving $548.
We would especially like to thank our corporate sponsors who helped make PuzzleMania VII a success.
Gold level: Osteostrong
Silver level: Edward Jones, represented by Mary Woodard and Elizabeth Perry
Bronze level: Coastal Credit Union
Thanks to a generous donation of puzzles from MasterPieces, Eurographics Puzzles, and Ravensburger, we were able to double the number of prizes awarded and give away 50 puzzles. Each member of the first place team received a 1000-piece and 500-piece puzzle. Second through fourth place received 1000-piece puzzles and fifth through 10th place received 500-piece puzzles.
