The Raleigh club was pleased to once again gather in person to celebrate our four recipients of the Live Your Dream Education and Training Awards for Women. The celebration place at the Five Points Center for Active Adults in Raleigh. Over 50 people attended the event including club members, the awardees and their guests, prior awardees and club sponsors.

The Raleigh Club granted $2,000 to each local award recipient—Lourdes, Shabria, Khadijah and Portia (pictured above, left to right). This year, all four recipients were enrolled in programs at Wake Tech Community College. In addition, Khadijah was presented with the Central East Coast Region Live Your Dream award in the amount of $5,000. She now moves to further consideration for a $10,000 award from Soroptimist International of the Americas.
The Live Your Dream program is unique in that recipients may use the cash grant to offset any costs associated with their efforts to attain higher education—such as books, childcare, tuition and transportation. Since 1989, Soroptimist Raleigh has granted over $65,000 to women in our local communities.
