Rubye will earn her Practicing Nursing Diploma from Fayetteville Technical Community College in 2020. This diploma prepares her to take the exam to become a Licensed Practical Nurse. She will then be able to become a Registered Nurse through a bridge program offered by her employer.
Rubye has worked as a Pharmacy Technician and is excited about the opportunity to become involved in direct patient care. She recently switched jobs and employers to pursue her goal of becoming a nurse.
Although her new job pays less, she now has access to education assistance from her new employer, Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, where she will be able to work as a nurse upon earning her credentials. Rubye is the single parent of a 19-year old daughter.
