March 10, 2015 At their March meeting, Raleigh Soroptimists presented Dress for Success Triangle with 275 personal care kits valued at $1,000. These will be given to Wake County women who are seeking employment. Each kit provides toiletry essentials for women to make a positive, professional impression during their job interviews.
Soroptimist President Gaye Mays stated, “These personal care kits provide items we take for granted but aren’t always available to the women served by Dress for Success Triangle’s Raleigh Boutique. Soroptimists are women at their best, helping other women to be their best. We are delighted to provide these kits to help women be their best during their job interviews.”
Beth Briggs, Executive Director, accepted the donation on behalf of Dress for Success Triangle and updated the Soroptimist club regarding the services they offer to women and the results achieved in the past year.
Soroptimist and Dress for Success are two international organizations with kindred missions. Both focus on improving the lives of women and assisting them in achieving economic independence.
Locally, these two organizations joined forces in 2009, when the “Professional Clothing Closet” operated by Raleigh Soroptimists for five years merged operations with the newly founded Dress for Success Triangle.
