Tiffany is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in business administration at UNC Pembroke, with a prospective graduation date of December 2023. She is a full-time student while working a full-time job and raising two children as a single parent. She was also assisting her mother as a caregiver for her father who suffered from ALS until his recent passing.
Tiffany left an abusive marriage years ago, and set out to make a new life for her children and for herself. She has been committed to furthering her college education for over ten years. Early on, she earned an associates degree at an unaccredited, for-profit college before she learned that her class credits were not transferable to other colleges or universities. In 2019, after exhausting her grant and student loan options at the prior school, Tiffany began her college career all over again at UNC Pembroke.
Tiffany’s co-workers praise her never-ending work ethic and her kind spirit. One of Tiffany’s coworkers says “She strongly believes in teamwork, strong communication and perseverance. Tiffany is an excellent example of dedicated leadership who wants to excel and encourages others to excel in all aspects of their lives!“
Tiffany has a true love of learning and is proud of her honors grades over the past two semesters. Upon receiving this award, Tiffany wrote, “I cannot put into words how thankful I am for this opportunity. As I make my advising appointment today it’s a huge relief to know that my last two semesters are covered!”
