Kristin is pursuing an Associate’s Degree in Healthcare Administration at Wake Technical Community College. Her goal is to gain education and embark on a career that will allow her to fully provide for herself and her two children.
Kristin is currently employed as a Nursing Assistant. Kristin gave birth to her first child when she was in high school. Keenly aware of the importance of an education, Kristin persevered and earned her high school diploma. As the single parent of two children, she recently made the difficult choice to move home with her mother to make ends meet while going to school.
One of her greatest financial struggles is to find stable child care so she can attend classes. She tells us, “This award will allow me to live my dream and provide for my family. I will be able to give my children a stable home that they deserve.”
